Cottons Vauxhall
Welcome to Cottons Vauxhall, a vibrant culinary gem nestled in the heart of Vauxhall, London. This restaurant is more than just a dining destination; it’s a celebration of Caribbean flavors and culture, offering an inviting atmosphere where every meal feels like a festive occasion.
The energy at Cottons is palpable, with its colorful decor and soothing reggae music wafting through the air. As you step inside, you are greeted with a kaleidoscope of Caribbean decor that instantly transports you to the islands. The ambiance is perfect for a summer meal, especially with its outdoor seating near the scenic river Thames.
From the moment you sit down, the menu invites you on a delightful journey through traditional Caribbean cuisine. A must-try starter is the Ebony Hot Wings coated in a savory sriracha hot sauce, priced at £8.00, or indulge in the Stewed Saltfish on Dumplings for an authentic Jamaican taste at £8.50. For those who enjoy seafood, the St Kitts Mango & Chilli Shrimp Stew combines sweet and spicy flavors beautifully at £20.50.
For the mains, I couldn't recommend the Curries highly enough. The Cottons Curried Mutton, made from a family recipe, is slow-cooked to perfection and served with rice and peas for just £20.00. If you’re craving something grilled, the Mixed Jerk Grill Platter delivers a stunning array of jerk meats that will electrify your taste buds.
- Vegetarians will find delight in the Chaguanas Dinner Plate, which offers a splendid assortment of chana dhal and fritters.
- Seafood lovers should not miss the Mixed Seafood Platter, featuring seabass, tilapia, and grilled king prawn.
While the food undoubtedly steals the spotlight, the drink menu enhances the experience even further. Guests rave about the Carib Lager, the essence of Trinidad and Tobago, which pairs beautifully with the rich flavors of the dishes available. Don't overlook the cocktails; the rum punch is a local favorite, creating a perfect balance that's refreshing and satisfying.
Though experiences may vary, and some have noted slower service during busy times, the overall sentiment leans towards having an impressive meal that fans of Caribbean cuisine would cherish. The vibrant setting, coupled with an exciting array of dishes, ensures that every visit is memorable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a casual dinner, Cottons Vauxhall promises an experience that nourishes both the body and soul. Make sure to reserve your table and let yourself be swept away by the flavors of the Caribbean.

My wife and I went to Cottons on the nd August for our anniversary, we loved the food. I had saltfish fritters for starters,it was tasty and curried mutton for the main, which was also tasty. I had a rum punch in a tall glass, it was just right with not too much ice and I also had a virgin colada which was also nice with the right amount of ice. Everything was just right!!

Really nice venue, situated in Vauxhall, near the river Thames. Great spot for a summer meal. There is outside seating. The environment is colourful and vibrant. The paint work on the walls reflects a Carribean vibe.Old vintage s reggae music is played in the background. The service from time of ordering to being served was quite long, around hour. The venue was near full capacity as it was fathers Day, which might be the reason for the delay.I attended with my family, which consisted of members. So large groups might contribute to a slower meal service. The food was nice and enjoyable. The signature jerk sauce was not pepper hot, you can taste the Dunns river jerk flavour, I have to say the jerk does not appear to be cooked over a smoked grill to give it the authentic Jamaican Jerk taste. The sauce was all over the food, which was overpowering, so it was difficult to taste the flavour of the meat selections.I ordered the jerk meat single Platter, which consists of a chicken wing, pork rib, a chicken thigh, rice and peas, and a lamb chop. The chop was really small, but this is not the case for all meals. The pork rib was not meaty. The cost of this meal is £, at the time of writing this review.I also had some of a fish Platter, which had a selection of four different fish pieces, a shrimp and squid, for £. . The fish meal was lightly seasoned. These meals are also served as a combo for two at around £..Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is accessible to wheelchairs from Vauxhall main road

It was a wonderful evening, there food was great and we got free.shots as it was.my step dad's birthday. We really felt looked after. The portion size was enough to make.me feel stuffed too.Kid-friendliness: Little man really enjoyed his fish and chips and he is a picky eater, so that is saying something.
